Summary

  • Nadia Lee Cohen’s newest book Holy Ohio, serves as an intimate photo series documenting her visit to her family in Ohio after 20 years
  • Created in collaboration with WePresent, the book is limited to 1,200 copies; releasing on December 12

Nadia Lee Cohen’s Holy Ohio marks one of the artist’s most personal projects to date, produced in collaboration with WePresent, the arts platform of WeTransfer. The monograph documents Cohen’s return to Ohio after more than 20 years, revisiting her extended family and reflecting on her earliest introduction to America. Through candid yet unsentimental photography, she captures the rhythms of rural heartland life, weaving together fragmented childhood memories with the present-day reality of four generations living side by side.

Designed to physically resemble a Bible, the book underscores Cohen’s interest in experimenting with form and meaning. Its white recycled leather cover, 150 pages of richly printed imagery and use of specialized papers such as GardaPat Kiara and Offenbach Bible Paper lend the work a tactile, archival quality. The photographs balance intimacy with detachment, offering a raw portrait of family dynamics and domestic chaos that resonates beyond her personal narrative.

Priced at $60 USD, Holy Ohio will be released on December 12, 2025, exclusively through IDEA Books London, Dover Street Market London and the IDEA Books online store, with pre-orders already available. The edition is limited to 1,200 copies, making it a collectible object as much as a publication.
