Daniel Arsham and Friedman Benda Reveal New Dino Chair Colorways
Limited to just 20 signed pieces each, exclusively for Basic.Space.
Renowned artist and designer Daniel Arsham, in collaboration with Friedman Benda and Basic.Space, is set to release two new colorways of his iconic Dino Chair. These limited editions, available in Black and Pink, continue the playful and rudimentary design aesthetics first seen in Arsham’s 2021 solo exhibition at Friedman Benda. Inspired by his son’s Play-Doh creations, the chairs mimic forms that could belong in The Flintstones. Crafted from durable birch wood, each chair measures 35 x 20.5 x 25 inches and is limited to just 20 pieces each.
Daniel Arsham emphasizes the unique interaction between design and user, stating, “Every single thing that I’ve designed furniture-wise, I designed it with the intention of using it.” Reflecting his commitment to functional art that is as practical as it is visually compelling.
This collaboration leverages Basic.Space’s curated platform, known for its mix of high-quality and innovative products, to introduce Arsham’s work to a broader, younger audience. The Dino Chairs are set to become available initially through an exclusive presale for friends and family on April 22, before being released to the general public on May 14.
