KAWS and House of Voltaire Unveil Limited-Edition Cashmere Blanket
In support of Studio Voltaire’s 30th anniversary.
Brooklyn-based artist KAWS has partnered with London’s House of Voltaire once again to create a limited-edition cashmere blanket, entitled FRACTURE. The release coincides with Studio Voltaire‘s 30th anniversary in 2024, with proceeds supporting the nonprofit arts organization and artist-led initiatives.
Crafted from 100% superfine cashmere, each FRACTURE blanket is carefully produced by master artisans in Scotland and comes in a cozy size that measures 180cm x 130 cm. Designed with the artist’s unmistakable aesthetic, the blanket showcases a double-sided knitting technique, featuring artwork on one side and a refined bird’s-eye pattern on the other. The heavyweight knit ensures warmth and comfort and highlights the blanket’s high-end construction and craftsmanship.
The design of FRACTURE draws inspiration from KAWS’s recent DAY BY DAY series, currently on view at Skarstedt Gallery in New York. Limited to just 85 pieces, each blanket is individually hand-numbered and priced at £1,700 GBP (approximately $2,200 USD). The FRACTURE blanket will be available on House of Voltaire’s webstore starting November 11.
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Studio Voltaire’s House of Voltaire will also present Greatest Hits, a special pop-up exhibition running from November 27 – December 10 at Thomas Dane Gallery. The exhibition will feature reimaginings and reissues of past works from notable collaborators, alongside special anniversary editions, all available for purchase at the gallery.
