MSRP: $100-$110 USD
Release Date: December 5, 2024
Where to Buy: adidas

After reintroducing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar‘s eponymous signature model earlier this year, adidas has spruced up the 1978 classic — the brand’s first signature basketball shoe — for the holidays via a new “Suede Pack,” high and low-top iterations of the model that boast a rich suede construction in place of the shoe’s standard leather build. The Jabbar High appears in a bold royal blue colorway, while the Jabbar Low gets a duo of makeups, namely a rich red and a crisp kelly green. All three styles feature a cream-colored Three Stripe graphic on the midfoot plus cream laces and heel tabs.

The only real difference in the colorblocking scheme of each pair is that the high-top iteration keeps its tongue tonal while both low-cut styles opt for a contrasting tongue. As a finishing touch, each pair is, of course, stamped with a gold foil illustration of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar tossing up his signature skyhook on the tongue (in a fun bit of sneaker history, Abdul-Jabbar was adidas’ first signature basketball athlete, and also the first basketball player to have his face on a sneaker).

If you want to get a little suede in your sneaker rotation this holiday season, the adidas Jabbar “Suede Pack” will be released on the brand’s webstore on December 5. The low-top models are priced at $100 USD, while the high-top iteration checks in at $110 USD.
