David Fincher Reportedly Developing English 'Squid Game' Series For Netflix
Possibly marking the first scripted spinoff in Hwang Dong-hyuk’s universe.
An English-language Squid Game Netflix series is reportedly in the works with filmmaker David Fincher at the helm.
Sources tell Deadline that the adaptation could be Fincher’s next big project for 2025, furthering his strong relationship with Netflix that has resulted in critically-acclaimed titles such as House of Cards, Mindhunter and Love, Death & Robots. Not much is currently known about the show aside from reports stating that it will be a TV series rather than a movie and that it will most likely be set in the US.
The series could be the first scripted spinoff in Hwang Dong-hyuk’s Squid Game universe following Squid Game: The Challenge.
Meanwhile, the original Korean-language Squid Game is returning for its second season on December 26 and will end with a third and final season.
