Update: The long-awaited debut project from JJJJound and adidas is finally launching this month. Taking on the Three Stripes’ ever-popular Samba silhouette with a premium Made in Germany construction, the resulting pairs elevate the shoe’s classic white and black colorways with special detailing. The white iteration is an adidas-exclusive while the black pair will be made available via JJJJound, with both releases taking place on March 27 at a price of $250 USD. Update: After months of anticipation following early previews surfacing, JJJJound has finally teased its first project with adidas — bringing its tasteful touch to the ever-popular Samba silhouette. Utilizing the style’s core white and black colorways, a JJJJound stamp of approval hits the lateral in glistening gold while the lining features a mustard finish and white sockliner displays additional JJJJound branding. Notably, each pair is made in Germany, which may back the previously-rumored $250 USD price point. Stay tuned for updates as we eagerly await the release details of this collaboration and be sure to review our previous coverage of the collaboration below for more info.

Update: JJJJound and adidas’ Samba collaboration was first leaked more than a year ago when a duo of styles — classic black/white/gum with a leather build and tan/brown/gum with a shaggy suede build, each with custom heel branding — hit the Internet in November 2022. Now, images of a third “Off-White/Core Black/Gum” pair have been revealed, and they’re just as JJJJound as you’d expect: not heavily altered, moreso elevated.

Upon the first glimpse, this pair looks almost identical to the omnipotent white, black, and gum in-line Samba. It also retains many of that pair’s details, from the gum midsole and outsole to the grey suede toe cap and black midfoot Three Stripe logo. However, the white leather upper is swapped out for a slightly eggshell-hued “Off White” tone, and the gold foil adidas branding on the lateral midfoot has been altered to read “JJJJound.” Lastly, an earthy gold tone is present on the leather collar lining and another co-branded stamp can be seen on the inner medial portion.

The pair will reportedly be released in March 2024, in an apparent bid to keep the red-hot Samba craze going for a few more months, and Kicksfinder reports it’ll be priced at $250. It’s worth noting that the reported MSRP is two and a half times as expensive as a pair of in-line Sambas, which are usually priced at $100 — since JJJJound is not known to inflate the MSRPs of their footwear collaborations vastly, we may well see an updated retail price in the $120-$150 USD range when the release draws closer.

Stay tuned for more info as it’s made available, and read the original article below for further details on the other two colorways.

Original Story: Sneaker collaborations have become a vital ingredient to JJJJound‘s successful business strategy, and shortly after releasing its Montreal-exclusive New Balance 990v3, the brand is now teasing that it has an adidas Samba capsule on the way. Popularity over this Three Stripes has skyrocketed in recent years thanks to its various team-ups, and given that JJJJound has a tendency of making trending silhouettes even cooler, this move makes perfect sense.

The Canadian design label hasn’t confirmed any official details for this launch yet, but we have captured a glimpse at two forthcoming colorways. The first is very similar to one of the silhouette’s OGs as it sports black leather uppers and suede overlays, white stripes and overlays and gum bottoms. However, the pair has been reworked with JJJJound branding on the heels and luxe brown interior lining. Its release sibling still keeps a neutral-toned presentation but arrives with a different constructional approach. Shaggy suedes make up a majority of the real estate and arrive in a lighter beige hue while the stripes and heel overlays are formed in a warm brown.

Release information hasn’t been announced yet but you can likely find these dropping via JJJJound in the coming months.

Elsewhere in sneakers, the adidas 4D Krazed has just launched in versatile colorways.
