Through a constant evolution in style and technology, adidas Originals has built an NMD archive that continues to inspire its future design and host of collaborations. The silhouette has come to define the modern-day, staple sneaker for generations of explorers thanks to the brand’s experimental innovation. In the new NMD_V3 model, its history of an “independent mindset” is celebrated as the classic design goes one step further with the introduction of updated components.

The approach of considering the past to move forward starts with the original streamlined silhouette, rooting from the first-edition NMD_R1. The iconic shape appears in the new iteration while the brand focuses on bringing a new level of comfort to its make-up. Moving away from tighter knits, its inner layer is built from a re-engineered mesh fabric that adds breathability and a lighter feel to the model. The adidas NMD_V3 also includes the unmistakable BOOST cushioning which lives in a TPU shell.

With over 90 adidas pairs incorporating sustainable features, the new model naturally includes the same. Drawing on adidas’ ongoing partnership with Parley, the sneaker’s upper comes crafted from a high-performance yarn that is woven from at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic and 50% recycled polyester.

With the NMD placed firmly in the dynamic lives of young pioneers, the Hypebeast-produced campaign channels their inspiring energy with the silhouette featured in front of a supersonic background of city lights. In the visuals, the sneakers’ neon orange, pink and crisp white hues are emphasized by the electric tones projected onto the model, creating an eye-catching spectacle.

The adidas Originals NMD_V3 is available to buy now on its website and select retailers.
