Galerie Slika Presents "BLACKRAINBOW"

The Paris-based studio returns to celebrate the creative energy of the youth.

Over the course of the past 15 years, BlackRainbow has developed into a multi-platform agency that has worked on a number of creative projects, such as campaigns with Beats by Dre and PUMA, to a printed magazine featuring the likes of the late-great Kobe Bryant. The last we visited the Paris-based agency, they were working with SNARKITECTURE on a limited-edition BE@RBRICK that brought the iconic toy into the realm of contemporary art.

Fast forward several years and co-founder Greg Hervieux has curated a new group show at Lyon’s Galerie Slika. The eponymously titled exhibition seeks to spotlight a range of emerging talent, including Spencer Harris, Julien Jaca, Terry Hoff, Liz Markus, Hanski, Mark Posey, Royal Jarmon, Pablo Tomek and A. Bavard.

The show brings together influences from graffiti, digital, graphic design and textile design, with no limit on the medium or the artistic categories offered. In a statement on the show, Hervieux is “convinced that creative energy” always comes from the youth. As such, the aim of the exhibition is to further cultivate a meeting point of sorts, where different movements and audiences, people who are not supposed to meet converge to go against current trends and manifest new creative possibilities.

Catch “BLACKRAINBOW” at Galerie Slika until April 9.
