Vacheron Constantin Overseas Everest Limited Editions Have Reached Earth's Highest Peak

In a stark departure from the usual suave aesthetic of Vacheron Constantin’s Overseas, the historic Swiss manufacture has given its sports luxe model a casual makeover.

Two 150-piece limited edition Overseas “Everest” models have been created, with one of the prototypes being worn by explorer and photographer, Cory Richards, on his 2019 ascent of Everest via the notoriously difficult North-East Ridge.

With their titanium and stainless steel cases and blue and orange color scheme, the 42.55mm chronograph and 41mm dual time watches are, by far, the most relaxed Overseas models Vacheron Constantin has yet produced.

The Dual Time features a Home Time – or GMT – hand with AM/PM indicator and local time date sub dial, while the column wheel chronograph features 12-hour and 30-minute registers and a small seconds at the nine o’clock position.

The cases are mainly constructed of titanium, producing a color-contrast by using a mix of satin-brushed and polished finishes for the case body and bead-blasted for the crown, pushers and famous faceted bezel, which sits on top of a stainless steel bezel ring, again for added contrast.

Both dials are given a blue grain-finish with bright orange complication hands, an accent emphasised by the orange stitching on the blue calfskin-lined Cordura strap, which is supplied along with a Clos de Paris textured grey rubber strap.

The Chronograph and the Dual Time use anthracite-colored NAC coated automatic Calibre 5200 and 5110 DT/2 movements, respectively, offering 52 and 60-hour power reserves. The movements also feature 22k pink gold winding rotors, engraved with a relief of Mount Everest.

The Overseas Chronograph and Dual Time Everest Editions are limited to 150 pieces each and available now exclusively via Vacheron Constantin boutiques, priced $37,000 USD and $31,300 USD respectively (or £31,400 GBP and £26,600 GBP in the UK).
