A Fan Remade 'The Simpsons: Hit & Run' Using Unreal Engine 5

A The Simpsons: Hit & Run fan has remade the game over the course of a week using Unreal Engine 5.
Originally released back in 2003 for the PlayStation 2, The Simpsons: Hit & Run was a GTA clone featuring your favorite animated characters in an open-world environment where you’re free to wreak havoc. Long-time fan Reubs decided to rebuild the title using the latest Unreal Engine 5, refreshing textures to work with ray tracing.
After re-creating Springfield, Reubs then tapped into various pre-made models and assets to bring in characters such as Homer or the Unreal car buggy before adding in some final details, creating a fully playable remake in just a week’s time. He even ripped the audio from the original game to make his remake more realistic and accurate.
Unfortunately, Reubs had to take down the demo download link over “copyright concerns,” and the show’s writer Matt Selman told IGN back in July that as much as he’d like an official remake, it would have to involve a “complicated corporate octopus,” so there probably won’t be an official remastering of The Simpsons: Hit & Run any time soon.
