Sebastien Ibeagha, a Nigerian-American soccer player, not only plays center-back for New York City FC in Major League Soccer, but he also loves clothes, draws exceptionally well and considers himself a music enthusiast. Ibegaha operates as a modern day Renaissance man who cannot be beholden to any one thing as his eclectic interests show itself with the gear he sports and the products he cops. As both a leader and a competitor at the highest level, Ibegaha’s life and career has many facets, including the intersection of fashion and sports, which comes to a heel with the 2021-22 NYCFC Primary Kit, also known as the Bronx Blue Kit.

In the video above, Ibeagha shows us his essentials that he travels with for games, including the 2021 Bronx Blue Kit. His other go-tos include Brain Dead sunglasses (which is his first Brain Dead piece — an important thing to note), his Swarovski bracelets and Clocks And Colours rings. Other accessories reveal personal touches, like his Christian Van Sant watch that reminds him of his dad’s old watches and a Playsafe mouthpiece with Nigerian colors that let him rep his home when he’s out on the field. Additionally, Ibeagha has Apple AirPods, which he uses to play Burna Boy to get himself psyched up before a game and an iPad Pro with the Apple Pen that allows him to sketch and draw during his down time. And finally, a game day staple: The 2021-22 NYCFC Primary Kit — A.K.A. the Bronx Blue Kit — features tonal stripes with subtle but striking club emblems that mimic an embossed texture.

Staying true to the heart of New York City, the NYCFC Bronx Blue harkens back to the club’s beginnings with the inaugural adidas season home kit that led the league with the most lightweight soccer kit of all-time. Cut with retro white bands and classic adidas stripes, the jerseys maintain remnants of the past while giving a new generation of fans something to be excited about. The uniforms feature detailing that comes in the form of the club’s original badge, which was designed to replicate the old NYC Subway Token, while the vertical stripe is a nod to all of the City’s essential workers and the classic white collar.

New York City FC enters its seventh year of play coming off its fifth straight playoff appearance and, despite a pandemic-disrupted 2020 season, head Coach Ronny Deila led the team to its first berth in the 2021 Leagues Cup in his first season with the club. Following a red hot preseason, NYCFC welcomed supporters back to Yankee Stadium for the first time in 577 days for the Home Opener vs. FC Cincinnati and are confident that team’s emphatic 5-0 win has set the tone for the year ahead. The club sees the return of stars like U.S. Men’s National Team goalkeeper and new NYCFC captain Sean Johnson, All-Star midfielder Maxi Moralez and the talented Homegrown midfielder James Sands. Some new faces have also been added to the roster, including 20-year old Brazilian forward Thiago Andrade, midfielder Alfredo Morales and promising Danish full-back Malte Amundsen. Of course, Sebastien Ibeagha remains at the heart and soul of the team, going into an important season with the club in search of its first MLS Cup.

Check out Sebastien Ibeagha’s soccer essentials in the video above and head to the team’s website to find out more about how you can get your hands on the 2021-22 NYCFC Bronx Blue Primary Kit.
