Diptyque‘s candles have always been some of the most coveted home scents (despite their high prices), but last year the French fragrance brand launched an even more exclusive line of candles. Last fall, the brand released a series of city exclusive candles, with scents like Tokyo, Berlin and Hong Kong available exclusively at stores in their respective towns.

But now few people are traveling the world to snag these scents, as a result of ongoing travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. With that in mind, Diptyque has made all of its city exclusive scents available online — for just one week that is.

Both the packaging and scent of each candle reflect its city’s personality. New York‘s candle evokes the city’s nightlife (something we’re also missing in addition to travel), with notes of incense, vetiver and cedar, highlighted by art deco-inspired packaging. The Shanghai candle turns to a more tranquil form of inspiration: the tea ceremony, with notes of green tea accented by a floral bouquet.

Diptyque isn’t the only fragrance brand to release its previously limited-edition scents more widely — Le Labo has also made its full range of city exclusive scents available online, including its newest city scent, Seuol’s Citron 28. You can find the full range, including Tokyo’s Gaiac 10 and Los Angeles’ Musc 25, at Le Labo’s online store.

Head over to Diptyque’s online store from September 17 to 23 to shop the city exclusive candles, which retail for $72 USD each. For more luxurious candles, check out LOEWE’s new line of plant-based home scents.
