Video Gives Scaled Look at the Moon Compared to Manhattan
A new perspective on the Moon.
Alvaro of MetaBallStudios has just released a video showing an accurate visualization of the size of some of our solar system’s natural satellites compared to Earth. Known for its detailed and quality 3D animations of how things scale in size, this new video compares the satellites (moons) of different planets; from Saturn’s smallest S/2009 S 1 (300m) to Jupiter’s massive Ganymede (5,268.2kms).
The video starts with the Eiffel Tower in the frame then moves to the Statue of Liberty, then pulls back to reveal Manhattan, and finally all of planet Earth when the Moon is introduced. Those curious as to how the other satellites in our solar system stack up to Earth’s can view the video above.
