Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes The First Person To Reach 200M Followers On Instagram
Another feat for the 34-year-old Portuguese superstar.
After being crowned Instagram’s highest earner late last year, footballing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has now become the first person in the world to break the 200 million follower threshold on the popular social media platform.
The 34-year-old Portuguese superstar’s account is second on the list of most followed accounts on the photo-sharing platform, though first place is occupied by the official Instagram company. Ronaldo, who currently plays for Serie A giants Juventus, sits ahead of third place’s Ariana Grande (173 million followers) and fourth place’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (3 million followers), and is currently 59 million followers ahead of football rival Lionel Messi who has 141 million.
To celebrate the major milestone, Ronaldo shared a video post to thank his loyal followers stating, “Wow 200 million!!! Thank you to each and every one of you for sharing this journey with me every day!!” Check out the post below. Ronaldo also tops the list of athletes charging the most for individual Instagram posts.
