1017 ALYX 9SM Douses Chelsea Boot and Penny Loafer in Smooth Snakeskin
Paying homage to the great American West.
Matthew M Williams’ label 1017 ALYX 9SM pays homage to the great American West this season by dousing two classic footwear silhouettes — the Chelsea boot and penny loafer — in an all-over snake-print pattern.
Williams — who is also creative head at Givenchy — is known for interpreting cultural undercurrents in his work, as well as his use of classic fabrics and patterns and reimagining them in innovative and unique ways – and for 1017 ALYX 9SM’s winter offering it’s no different.
First up are the Leone Chelsea boots: crafted using premium leather, the snakeskin upper sits on a thick augmented sole and block heel, while the front of the shoe is completed with a striking square-toed finish.
Arriving alongside them are the logo-embellished penny loafers that arrive in a nuanced brown, white and black snakeskin pattern. Like the Chelsea boots, each loafer has been hand-crafted in Italy using a luxury leather which sits atop a low-stacked heel and leather sole, while a subtle metal logo across the strap completes the look.
Both the Leone Chelsea Boots (approximately $906 USD) and the penny loafers (approximately $646 USD) are available to buy now from Matches Fashion.
