Artist Victor Solomon has developed his “Literally Balling” project into a variety of forms. From exhibitions in nearly all of the world’s major cities to limited designs sold to collectors like LeBron James and Rick Ross, the imprint has remained fluid, constantly shifting to best represent Solomon’s distinct design cues. His latest effort has yielded Literally Balling’s debut jewelry collection, informed by a single thoughtful ring issued in a quartet of makeups.

The “Seam Ring” wears its inspiration literally; it takes its elegantly curving shape from the seams of a basketball, freeing them from the globe-shaped object to create a three-dimensional wrapping effect. Each line that shapes the ring is delicately thin, yet sturdy. All four variants are comparably luxe and allow for a plethora of price points: sterling silver is the most affordable option ($350 USD), followed by gold vermeil, 14-karat solid gold and — at the top of the line — a 14k gold version studded with diamonds ($6,300 USD).

After seeing a limited release on Single’s Day, the Seam Rings will launch on Literally Balling’s website November 12.

Most recently, basketballs took a different form of inspiration when Yoon Ahn teased AMBUSH’s forthcoming NBA and Nike collaboration.
