Cult Action-Thriller 'Face/Off' to Be Rebooted
Revamping John Woo’s 1997 blockbuster.

John Woo‘s blockbuster classic Face/Off is being rebooted. The 1997 action-thriller that saw John Travolta and Nicolas Cage going head-to-head saw major global box office success, alongside an Academy Award nomination, and is often considered one of Woo’s most accomplished Hollywood films.
Paramount Pictures is refreshing the movie with Oren Uziel, the writer for 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox, penning the script. According to sources, the original storyline will be revamped with new characters, albeit exactly which actors and directors to be involved remain unknown. It’s worth noting that Paramount Pictures hasn’t had a huge commercial hit since selling Marvel to Disney, and that Face/Off could be an intersting case study to see the sales impact from an action movie reboot.
Elsewhere, director Andy Muschietti has teased a 5-hour supercut of IT.
