HODINKEE adds to its list of horological collaborations, this time partnering up with IWC Schaffhausen for a special edition of the Mark XVIII pilot’s watch. Combining characteristics from both a 3705 Fliegerchronograph and a Mark XI, the HODINKEE XVIII sees a 39mm case that is made from IWC’s newly-developed proprietary alloy Ceratanium.
The watch also features anti-magnetic properties, a high level of scratch resistance, a Caliber 35100 movement, and comes with a green embossed calfskin strap. At first glance, you can tell this is a workhorse watch with its simple, unobstructed dial, stealthy black case, and lightweight design — a simple watch for daily wear.
If you like what you see, and you are a fan of military-inspired watches, don’t think too long about this watch as there are only 500 numbered examples made. Those interested can find the IWC Mark XVIII Edition “HODINKEE” over at HODINKEE’s website for $6,400 USD on February 6 starting at 10:00am EST, and at select IWC Schaffhausen boutiques.
