Vince Staples and Levi's Bring Music Education Program to Long Beach
A long-term program to encourage aspiring young musicians.
Rapper Vince Staples has teamed up with Levi’s to build a year-round music technology education program in his hometown of Long Beach. Kicking off with a songwriting workshop, Vince enlisted the help of producer Dion “No I.D” Wilson (Prima Donna) who taught kids how to compose and mix songs. Instructors from the program John Sanders and Leslie Barnes hope to provide more resources outside of the school system to get kids to create more music and experiment with different techniques and sounds.
