Iron Maiden have released the video for “Speed Of Light,” the first single from their upcoming 16th studio album The Book of Souls. The band have noted that the clip pays tribute to 40 years of video games which is comparable the 40 years of psychedelic imagery they have released since forming in 1975. The video was directed and produced by Llexi Leon with the visual effects provided by the Brewery Production Company. Regarding the album, bassist Steve Harris noted:
“We approached this album in a different way to how we’ve recorded previously. A lot of the songs were actually written while we were there in the studio and we rehearsed and recorded them straight away while they were still fresh, and I think that immediacy really shows in the songs. They have almost a live feel to them.”
The band is set to tour in 2016 to support the album release. Stay tuned for more information as it drops.
