EXCLUSIVE: Alt-R&B Newcomer Nambyar Shares Stirring Visual for "Once More"
For fans of James Blake, James Vincent McMorrow and SOHN.
Amsterdam-based alt-R&B artist Nambyar has revealed the visual for his latest track, “Once More,” which he released two months ago. The follow-up record to his debut song “Warm In The Winter” is a soulful cut that combines stirring, cinematic vocals with a melancholic electronic instrumental. The track’s lyrics tell the story of loss and moving on. “I needed to cut loose from everything that was holding me back from being me.” Nambyar shares. “My relationship, my way of living and thinking. My way of making music. I wanted something real and new.” The video is a simple illustration of the song’s heartfelt lyrics.
Nambyar is born to a Fijian father and Dutch mother and currently lives in a small village just above Amsterdam. He has been honing his music and production skills for the last three years, writing songs with his own collection of analog synthesizers. Listeners have compared his style to that of James Vincent McMorrow and SOHN’s. Watch the music video above and stay tuned for more from this emerging talent. Stream or download Nambyar “Once More.”
