Calls to Suicide Prevention Hotlines Tripled after Logic's "1-800-273-8255" GRAMMY Performance
The rapper is doing great things.
Logic‘s performance of his hit record “1-800-273-8255” at the 2018 GRAMMYs led to a big increase of calls to suicide prevention hotlines. A spokesperson for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline recently revealed to TMZ that two hours following the rapper’s performance, counselors received three times the amount of calls what what they would usually get in that time period.
Logic wore a hoodie that displayed the number during his performance. The NSPL called the Maryland’s performance “an incredible moment in suicide prevention.” In addition to the help he’s given during the performance, the NSPL says they received a 50 percent surge in calls when the song was released last April.
Logic is currently writing a novel and a movie script. “There’s a lot of things that are going on right now, which is awesome,” Logic said to E! News at the GRAMMYs. “I just finished my first novel. I started the second one. I just wrote and finished a movie that I’m really excited to star in now. I’ve been working really hard. It’s been amazing.”
