PAL-V Is Accepting Pre-Orders for Its Flying Car
With a starting price of $400,000 USD.
We’ve previously covered various flying car concepts that were still far from ready for consumer use. Well, thanks to Dutch company PAL-V this ever-elusive goal of an airborne vehicle has become a reality with the introduction of what it calls “the first certified commercial flying car ever.” The three-wheeled PAL-V Liberty bears some resemblance to a helicopter with its retractable top-mounted motor, but it can actually hit ground speeds of up to 100 mph and 817 miles driving distance on a full tank. While in the air, the hybrid vehicle has a top speed of 112 mph but it can only travel 310 before needing to refuel. If you’re in the market for a new very expensive toy the $400,000 USD base price shouldn’t put you off; you can pay $600,000 USD for the “Pioneer” edition which includes a nicer interior, electronic flight instrument display, and even at-home training. Head over to PAL-V now to make an initial deposit now. The first batch is set to begin delivery at the end of 2018.
