It was only a couple of hours ago when both mastermind JAPAN and Buscemi took to Instagram to tease their forthcoming collaboration. With Buscemi’s 2016 fall/winter collection being greatly inspired by Japanese culture, it was only fitting the brand would reach out to designer Homma Masaaki of mastermind JAPAN. The result is a beautifully crafted, street-luxe shoe infused with American attitude perfectly showcasing Japan’s insurgent take on streetwear. The high-top sees an all-black leather upper with signature-notched collar and heel handle. mastermind JAPAN’s skull-and-crossbones motif is featured on the tongue and clochette, while ‘mastermind JAPAN’ is engraved on Buscemi’s signature lock on the heel. The mastermind JAPAN x Buscemi sneaker drops on September 16 at Buscemi’s online store.
