Google’s New App Curates Art From All Over the World for Your Viewing Pleasure
Your own virtual meta museum.
Google is out to revolutionize the way we look at and appreciate art with a new app called ‘Google Arts & Culture.’ Offering so much more than just being able to scope out when your local museum’s opening hours, users can also check out works from more than a thousand museums from over 70 countries. Other cool features include the ability to sort out a specific artist’s catalog based on colors, catching up on a curated selection of arts and culture-related articles sourced from museum websites, or making use of Google Street View’s 360-degree photos of museum interiors and world landmarks — further providing a frame of reference for their scale and physicality.
Ideal for art lovers, Google Arts & Culture is available for download now through iOS and Android for free. Check out the video above to learn more about the app’s functionality.
