Luftgekühlt: The Car Show for Air-Cooled Porsches
The biggest show featuring only air-cooled Porsches.
The air-cooled Porsche was once just a simple work car, but has recently become a collectible and icon for all automotive aficionados. In response to that, Porsche FIA World Endurance Championship racer Patrick Long and his friend, designer Howie Idelson got together to make something out of the air-cooled car culture, and so they started Luftgekühlt. It is a car-show that showcases these Porsches in all their glory, and is now the biggest showing off these gems. The latest show featured over 400 of these cars against a backdrop of the LA skyline, hosted by the Modernica furniture headquarters. According to Long, “We wanted people to come for the cars and then be blown away by the venue: It has to be interesting. It has to attract different kinds of people.” Check out some photos above of the impressive car show, and head over to Auto Blog to read more.
