DJI's Latest Drone Looks to Turn Hollywood Filmmaking Around
The perfect drone for blockbuster filming.
DJI just unveiled two new products aimed at big budget productions out of Hollywood. On hand to announce the device was Claudio Miranda, the Academy Award-winning director of photography who helmed Life of Pi. Named the Matrice 600, the drone is a $5,000 USD device with a long list of impressive specifications. It’s capable of streaming in 1080p at 60 frames per second at a distance of up to three miles, and is also equipped with a flight controller which is available with three GPS units and three IMUs — all allowing it to precisely determine its position making it possible to accurately repeat a flight path for those pesky reshoots.
