'Midnight Special' Trailer #2 Starring Michael Shannon and Kirsten Dunst

Examples of sci-fi that resonate above mere sequences of explosions and wanton destruction have been few and far between of late, but writer and director Jeff Nichols, of Mud and Take Shelter fame, is here to add to those ranks with his first studio production, Midnight Special. Starring Jaeden Lieberher as Alton, a young boy with supernatural powers, the film follows his ordeal as his father (Michael Shannon) tries to protect him from the probes of a religious sect and an ultra-secretive government agency. Also starring Adam Driver, Kirsten Dunst, Joel Edgerton and Sam Shepard, Midnight Special is slated for a theatrical release on March 18, 2016. Watch the first trailer here.
