Examining the Legend That Is Ed Templeton
In a short documentary narrated by none other than Steve Olson.
Ed Templeton is a man of many talents, some of which include being a skateboarding pioneer, contemporary artist and the creative force behind Toy Machine. Growing up in Huntington Beach he was a key figure in the progression of street skating throughout the ’90s, before picking up a camera to document the subculture of the sport and those around him. Templeton’s passion for the arts didn’t stop there as he began channeling his creative energy towards graphic design and canvas work, which eventually lead him to start up his own company Toy Machine, an imprint he still runs today. His impact on street skating cannot be understated, but the multifaceted approach he took to the sport is second to none as it helped encourage many skaters to explore other interests besides the sport itself. Transworld Skateboarding recently honored him with the Legends Award to commemorate all of his accomplishments, and have released this accompanying video narrated by none other than Steve Olson.
