NOWNESS Takes You Inside David Hockney's Former Apartment
Peek inside some of the most tastefully decorated homes of the creative world.
Creative house NOWNESS has teamed up with Apartamento Magazine for its ‘My Apartamento‘ series, which takes us inside the beautiful homes of celebrated architects, designers and artists. Think of it as a fancier version of MTV Cribs, where notable patrons include Florence Welch, GQ‘s Glenn O’brien, luxury candlemaker Cire Trudon’s Ramdane Touhami, and real-life Don Draper George Lois. The latest episode, beautifully directed by Barbara Anastacio, takes you inside David Hockney’s old apartment. The current residents of the flat, interior designer and architect duo Melissa North and Tchaik Chassay, take you around the charming West London home which is filled to the brim with sunlight, bright colors, stacks of books and mid-century furniture. As the couple takes you through their abode, which features a bespoke wooden kitchen, a luscious indoor garden, bright green walls reminiscent of Hockney’s Californian paintings and an authentic Hockney paint palette, they talk you through the process of “dressing up” a home whilst giving some insight about the history of their collections.
