A 'Trainspotting' Sequel Is in the Works
Set for release next year, starring the original four main actors.
Danny Boyle has confirmed plans for a Trainspotting sequel while on a press tour for his upcoming Steve Jobs biopic. The iconic 1996 film follows several Edinburgh heroin addicts and Mark Renton’s (Ewan McGregor) journey through sobriety attempts. It also features Robert Carlyle, Ewen Bremner and Jonny Lee Miller. According to Boyle, “All the four main actors want to come back and do it. It’s only a matter of getting all their schedules together which is complicated by two of them doing American TV series.” The sequel is set for release next year, marking Trainspotting‘s 20th anniversary.
