The greatest soccer player on Earth is challenging creatives to “unfollow” him in the newest spot from adidas. Aptly dubbed “Unfollow,” the new 60-second piece — a followup to the “Create Your Own Game” spot — sees four-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi challenging the next generation of players. To them, he should no longer be a hero — he’s the competition.
In a world that is full of followers, adidas is reaching out to those who can be bold enough to stand out. The film is a call to arms for those who defy the norm. To make a difference in the changing game of today, don’t be like Leo Messi, take from him and create something new.
