Yahoo! Unveils the Completely Redesigned Flickr 4.0

After two years in development, the biggest Flickr update in years went live yesterday. Flickr 4.0 makes it easier than ever to upload, access, search or share any photo across multiply devices, making use of backend algorithms and an overhauled UI to streamline user experience. In addition to 1 TB of free storage space, Flickr also comes with a desktop app that will automatically scan your hard drive and upload photos to the web. On mobile, the Flickr app for smartphone and tablet will automatically back up your Camera Roll to the cloud, with everything set to private by default to avoid any unwanted leaks. Improved algorithm-powered search functionality allows you to type in queries to find photos based on what’s in them (nature, people, animals and more) as well as style (bright, abstract or pattern-filled) and filter accordingly. A full rundown of the updates can be found on the Flickr blog.
