As if Maxo Kream‘s psychedelic manual of murder-music and robbery-rap needed to sound more menacing and intimidating to all witnesses involved, Slim K has decided to give the Houston up-and-comer’s Maxo 187 project his revered “Chop Not Slop” treatment. Slim K’s take on Maxo 187 switches up the original’s order and tracklisting, but keeps intact the initial release’s malice and might. With DJ Screw’s passing many years back, artists like Slim K and OG Ron C are left to carry the torch and bear the flag for the “Chopped and Screwed” sound, and they’ve been making syrup-sippers proud in recent months.
