Kelela’s music already has that modern R&B feel and with plenty of bedroom trap edits available of every one of your favorite early 2000s R&B tracks, it’s rare to find such a well done remix for something this new. London’s YUAHREL put his own spin on Kelela’s, Arca-produced, “A Message.” He slowed it down a tiny bit, added percussion to the beautiful, bare base Arca set and even, very subtly, managed to sample the Timbaland beatbox sample from 1998’s, Grammy-nominated, “Are You That Somebody?”
Keep a look out for his upcoming, debut EP, which will also feature other remixes of YUAHREL’s for Banks’, “Drowning” and Tinashe’s “Days In The West.”
