Sir Michael Rocks has unveiled the first single in support of his forthcoming album, Populair. “Pull Up” receives its premiere today via a video directed by indigochildrick, who also makes music of his own. In a statement released to Complex regarding today’s drop, Sir Michael Rocks wrote the following:
“The video came together after Nat Geo wanted to get some shots of me in a more frozen climate to search for the best ice fishing and cold weather wild life. There was a type of wolf called the Tasmanian wolf that went extinct decades ago. Before their extinction, when they were still prevalent, a jacket was made from the fur (cruelty free).”
You can probably take that with a grain of salt, but in a more sensible statement, Sir Michael Rocks noted that his next project Populair will be the “next continuation in the Banco saga.” On a related note, Sir Michael Rocks appears to be experimenting with some different flows here. You can almost hear a bit of Bone Thugs and Suga Free in his style on “Pull Up.”
