Online image-sharing site Imgur is making it a lot easier for users to share content found on the site by adding external embedding capabilities. The embed option will now appear in the “Post Options” menu on any public image or GIF in the Imgur database. While it wasn’t impossible to just download and re-upload an image before, adding embed functionality has been key for sites like YouTube and Twitter in enabling users to distribute their content across social media and blogs. Not all sites are immediately supporting the Imgur embed code, but don’t be surprised if you start seeing more of this as you peruse the Web.
