XCAR Questions the W Configuration in Bentley Continental GT

In its latest video instalment, XCAR unpacks the story of the Bentley‘s unorthodox configuration in its 12 cylinder engine. Not many automakers are even producing 12 cylinders these days, but those that are—including BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin—all follow the typical V arrangement, whereas Bentley consistently goes against the grain with its W shape. On the surface, it might seem like a minor detail and just a manufacturer’s preference over anything, but its actually a very interesting story of innovation and a fight to be unique in an industry where competition is so fierce.
