Panasonic's LTE-Powered Security Camera

Home security cameras normally rely on a strong Wi-Fi signal or connection to an Ethernet cable, which may not always be available where security cameras are needed. But here comes Panasonic with the first wireless, LTE-connected security camera that can be placed virtually anywhere. The $250 USD Nubo Camera supports 2G, 3G and 4G connections, is IP-66 weather resistant for the outdoors, can be run off a USB battery, and has a magnetic mounting system. The camera also boasts 1080p recording with its 14-degree wide-angle lens, along with both a speaker and microphone for two-way communication. Not only that, but the Nubo also features an infrared detector and LED array for low-light situations, with motion detection to notify you of activity and can be controlled remotely to record at various lengths. Apart from all these features buffing up the security camera, the Nubo is offered on $7-$10 USD plans, with an included SIM running on Panasonic’s MVNO network in Europe (connected to Vodafone). The plans include cloud storage and live connectivity to its Android and iOS app, allowing for easy control and management. The camera will roll out in the UK and the Netherlands this November, with preorders beginning in April. Panasonic says it will launch the camera in the US and elsewhere in 2015.
