UK design studio Dorothy is paying tribute to some of football’s most iconic locations in a new illustration series, titled “Lost Destinations.” The prints are inspired by the classic travel posters which were commonplace in the first half of the 20th century, and aim to memorialize the buildings and grounds that were once lauded destinations but have since been demolished to make way for housing developments or newer, upgraded facilities. Not only does the series celebrated the beloved stadiums, but also acts as a statement on the endurance of each of the home teams over the years. Arsenal’s Highbury, Manchester City’s Maine Road, Sunderland’s Roker Park and the old Wembley Stadium are all featured in the series. Check out the nostalgic images above.
