More tragic news have arrived today on top of the passing of Fool’s Gold Records’ co-founder Dust La Rock. The Jacka, real name Dominic Newton, was killed in a shooting in Oakland Monday night. The 37-year-old Oakland rapper was the owner of his imprint The Artist Records and began his career in Pittsburg, California his crew Mob Figaz in the late ’90s. Witnesses claimed to have heard shots fired around 8:15 p.m. PST on MacArthur Boulevard by 94th Avenue, but currently no suspect has been identified yet. We send our condolences to his family and friends during this time of difficulty; may he romp in peace.
