S-Type Creates Eight-Minute Song for Astrid Andersen Presentation

S-Type was commissioned to create a soundtrack for Astrid Andersen’s Autumn/Winter 2015 exhibit. The eight-minute catwalk production was premiered during Andersen’s NYFW showcase, and once again shined the spotlight on the designer’s love and appreciation bass-heavy electronic music and hip-hop. Being selected to cook up some music for the presentation was an even bigger honor for S-Type than one would normally expect, as it also came during Astrid Andersen’s New York Fashion Week debut. S-Type tells i-D he describes his catwalk song as “dramatic, impactful, metallic,” while the producer says the song presents “a darker and more industrial sound” than his past productions. The LuckyMe producer also chose to open Andersen’s show with the opening track from his forthcoming Fire EP, which features work from Sad Boys affiliate Yung Gud.
