As an increasing number of employees work away from a traditional ‘headquarter’ setting, the need for communal workspaces also increases. In the vein of successful ventures such as WeWork, Heavybit Industries is a members-only workspace based in San Francisco. In response to its growing membership, the company tapped new-age architecture firm Iwamotoscott to renovate a once-solemn SOMA warehouse into a collaborative haven of productivity. Accordingly, the three-story building preserves the industrial character of the edifice while also giving a physical identity to the elusive, intangible ‘Cloud’ that permeates contemporary work-life. The building hosts a bike room, conference room, high-grade kitchen, collective dining area, and more. Enjoy the photos above and learn more about Iwamotoscott’s work on the firm’s website.
