The late great rock legend’s London home will to be opened to the public for the first time. Jimi Hendrix spent time in London and lived at the Mayfair property from 1968 – 1969. It’s located at 23 Brook Street and the flat will be home to a new exhibition to the late rocker when it opens its doors in February 2016. Organizers spent two years renovating the space.
Chairman of the Handel House Trust, Alistair Stranack had this to say:
“It is hard to think of another home in the world with such a concentration of musical genius…Our research into the building and Hendrix’s circle of friends and acquaintances has enabled us to present an image of what life was like in his time at Brook Street…While it has been a pleasure to have been working in Jimi’s bedroom for the past few years, it is even more pleasing to be able to throw it open to everybody else.”
Tickets for the exhibition go on sale on November 2.
