Apple Updates Its Standalone Keyboard, Trackpad & Mouse
Apple’s accessories get a much-needed update.

Along with today’s release of its new iMacs, Apple has given its standalone keyboard, trackpad and mouse much-needed upgrades. Gone are the days of constantly swapping out disposable batteries to power the devices as the redesigned Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad 2, and Magic Mouse 2 all feature built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and Lightning charging. Improved batteries aren’t all that’s new, however. Now 13% smaller than the previous Magic Keyboard, the new design also boasts a new scissor mechanism and lower profile while the Magic Mouse 2 offers a lighter and sturdier design over that of its predecessor while sporting an optimized “foot” for a smoother glide. Finally, the Magic Trackpad 2 brings Force Touch to the desktop for the first time and features a 29% larger surface for improved interaction.
All three devices are available now at Apple stores and online.
