Microsoft HoloLens, the brainchild of Alex Kipman (who also developed the Kinect), is Microsoft’s most ambitious project yet. As its name implies, the HoloLens deals with holograms, which Kipman urges is the future of computing. Instead of computing on a screen and interacting in cyberspace, Microsoft believes that in the very near future we will begin computing in the physical world — using voice and gestures to summon data and layer it on top of the real world. Reminiscent of a ski mask, the HoloLens rests atop of your head, displaying realistic holograms that you interact with using your hands.
