The Korea Herald recently announced that Samsung has hired a new global design chief to head its arguably struggling design front that’s in need of a little boost. In charge of that will be 47-year-old Lee Don Tae, who comes from London-based design firm Tangerine; home to Apple‘s current senior design vice president, Jonathan Ive. Lee’s job will not only consist of reinventing Samsung’s multibillion-dollar mobile division, but also contributing to Samsung’s Design Management center, working closely with the CEO to elevate Samsung’s overall design prowess. With the Galaxy S6 expected to be released in the coming months, it’ll be interesting to see Lee’s involvement in the company’s most important product.
