Undoubtedly the highlight of Panerai‘s unveilings at SIHH 2015 is the upcoming Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech 3 Days Automatic from the the Milan-based watchmaker. Featuring never-before-used carbon fiber-based Carbotech construction for its 47 mm case, the timepiece sports a unique, uneven matte black finish thanks to the cutting of the high-tech material — effectively making each watch a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. In addition to the case, the watch also dons a Carbotech-constructed anti-clockwise unidirectional rotating bezel with a graduated scale. Powered by Panerai’s automatic mechanical P.9000 calibre movement, the piece boasts the likes of a Glucydur balance alongside an Incabloc anti-shock device and a three-day power reserve and is water-resistant up to 300 meters. Finally, the piece’s black dial sees applied luminous Arabic numerals and dots with the Date at the 3 o’clock position while a small seconds hand appears at 9 o’clock. Finishing touches include a caoutchouc black rubber strap and DLC-coated titanium buckle while additional bracelet and strap options are set to be available when the piece launches at retail in the near future.
