From starring in acclaimed films to modeling in big-budget campaigns to classic albums to making music alongside talented, buzzing newcomers such as Vince Staples and Lil Herb/G Herbo, Common has done a lot. Now, Common can add one more thing to that ever-expanding, impressive resume: TV show host. However, Common isn’t exactly going to be treading over familar territory with his entrance into the television game. In fact, the program he’s involved with isn’t related to anything he’s done in the past, or anything that falls remotely in line with what he’s done in his career. The 42-year-old will be hosting a “furniture design show” entitled Framework, and the series premieres tonight on Spike TV. The show will pit 13 individuals billed as “elite furniture craftsmen” against each other in various competitive, reality-style scenarios, with each new episode yielding a new furniture-building challenge. Common will play the role of the program’s primary host, judge, and “voice of the consumer.” Because, you know, when you’re out shopping for a quality piece of furniture, you always think, “What Would Common Buy?”
