Following a performance at Apolis: Common Gallery in Los Angeles, blind piano prodigy Justin Kauflin shared his story on the musical journey that has brought him critical acclaim from various members of the industry. Picking up the violin at the age of 4, he went on to learn the piano five years later, but Justin’s passion and appreciation for music completely changed when he lost his eyesight and many of the things he had enjoyed up until then went away. In this inspiring video he tells audience members, ”What I share with my music if I’m really able to get down to it and be honest is who I am,” while also stressing the importance of old-fashioned hard work in developing his craft, rather than relying on connections to jumpstart your career. Check it out for yourself in the video above.
